I’ve been designing corporate training for twenty-eight years. Since 2008 I’ve led NextGen AI Learning, now a community of nearly 90,000 people working in this field.
In all that time, the same small problems have never been solved. Counting narration words for a translation quote. Hunting for the asset that pushed a course past the LMS limit. Auditing caption coverage across fifty slides, by hand, again. Every instructional designer I know keeps a folder of half-broken spreadsheets built to cope with work that should have been automated a decade ago.
So I’m building them properly and giving them away. After twenty-eight years in this field, this is the part I want to give back.
Curt has designed learning programs across manufacturing, retail, consumer technology and medical education, starting with enterprise learning systems in Europe in the late nineties.
He holds an MA in Educational Technology from the University of San Francisco, and consults on corporate learning strategy through Boston Learning Solutions.

How these work
- Free, and no account. No email wall, no trial, no credits. If a tool is here, you can use it.
- Your files never upload.Tools that read a file read it in your browser. Your course files never reach a server, mine or anyone else’s.
- One exception, stated plainly. The Authoring Tool Selector saves your answers so that your results link keeps working. They are stored anonymously with no name, no email and no login. Every tool that reads a file reads it in your browser and sends nothing anywhere.
- One job per tool. Each does a single thing and gets out of the way. No dashboards, no upsell.
- Not chatbots. These give the same answer every time, instantly. There is no prompt to write and nothing to double-check.
New tools ship regularly, and the catalog shows what is being built next. If something you need is missing, or something here is wrong, tell me. That is how the list gets decided.
